This song is in Crimean Tatar. in 1944, our people were declared traitors (although THEY were NOT betrayed) and at night all children, girls and old people were put in freight wagons and deported to different countries far from home. we drove for at least 22 days, 70% of only children died out there, in the vogons. Meanwhile, in the archives that were mentioned about us, they burned, half of the Khan's palace was destroyed. (then they rebuilt 7 times less, there was nothing left of many villages either, there were a lot of orchards that were well spoiled) (My great-grandmother, she survived the deportation, I will tell her story) Then she was 5 years old. Her dad was shot in front of her. no one had time to pick up things from home. She told how they had to eat raw potatoes, a lot of people were dying before her eyes, there was nothing to breathe in closed cars. Then she and her mother were brought to Tajikistan, and her brother was taken to another country. They were forced to work somewhere, there was no water, no food. They drank from a puddle because of this, her mother died of cholera. she was left alone at the age of 5. A lot of time has passed, she got married, gave birth.
